Important Update on Shipping Televisions to Nigeria
As I mentioned in a previous article, we are committed to keeping you, our valued customers, well-informed about any changes at Heroshe. Today, I have an important update to share. While this news might not be what you hoped for, we believe in transparency and want to ensure you understand the reasons behind our decisions.
Recently, our clearing agent informed us of an increase in the cost of clearing televisions by the Nigerian Customs Service. Faced with this, we had two options: pass these increased costs on to you, our customers, or pause shipping televisions until we could negotiate a better deal. After careful consideration, we paused shipments of TVs larger than 32 inches. This decision is a testament to our commitment to offering you, our valued customers, affordable and simplified shipping experiences.
Our mission has always been to bridge the commerce gap, simplify imports, and empower Africans to access global markets. Today, we want to share why we have decided to stop shipping TVs larger than 32 inches to Nigeria and what this means for you.
To give you a clearer picture, here is a detailed breakdown of the current clearing costs for TVs larger than 32 inches, set by the Nigerian Customs:
All QLED TVs:
- 1 to 39 inches: ₦200,000
- 40 to 45 inches: ₦300,000
- 50 to 55 inches: ₦250,000
- 60 to 65 inches: ₦400,000
- 70 to 75 inches: ₦500,000
- 80 to 86 inches: ₦1,500,000
- 90 to 96 inches: ₦3,000,000
Normal LED TVs
- 110 inches: ₦250,000
- 100 inches: ₦200,000
- 85/86 inches: ₦150,000
- 83/75 inches: ₦100,000
- 73/70 inches: ₦70,000
- 66/65/60 inches: ₦60,000
- 55/50 inches: ₦50,000
- 43/40 inches: ₦40,000
- 39 inches and below: Free (But if shipped in large quantities, ₦10,000 per TV)
To put this into perspective, you will pay shipping fees and an extra ₦40,000 in clearing charges to ship a 43-inch normal LED TV to Nigeria. The costs for larger TVs are even more expensive, reaching up to ₦3,000,000 for screens 90 inches and above!
After careful consideration, we have decided to pause shipments of TVs larger than 32 inches. We decided to maintain our commitment to offering affordable and simplified shipping to Nigeria. The high clearing charges make it economically unfeasible for us to continue shipping these large TVs without passing the extra costs onto you, our valued customer.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We remain dedicated to providing you with the best shipping experience possible. Love and swift delivery.
