Behind The Scenes: From Heroshe Warehouse to Your Doorstep in Nigeria

Behind The Scenes: From Heroshe Warehouse to Your Doorstep in Nigeria

One of the most common questions the Heroshe customer delight team receives is, "What happens after my package arrives at the Heroshe warehouse?" Maybe you have just ordered a shipment to restock your store's shelves or bought a new work laptop. The excitement builds as you think about when they will arrive. Then, as the days pass, you wonder, "Where are my packages now? What is happening with them at the warehouse? How soon will they get to me in Nigeria?"

At Heroshe, we understand. Whether you are a business owner waiting to restock or someone excited about a personal delivery, knowing what happens behind the scenes can help ease your mind. So, let us go through what happens to your items from when they reach our warehouse to when they arrive at your doorstep in Nigeria.

Let’s get started.

Step 1: Item Arrival and Inbound Process

As soon as your item arrives at any of our USA, UK, or China warehouses, we immediately get to work. The first step is "inbounding," where the package is logged into our system. This is when you will see the "Received" status on your dashboard. This means we have received your item, but it hasn’t been processed yet. Depending on the volume of incoming shipments, this process usually takes about 24 - 48 hours.

Step 2: Processing Your Package

Once the item is logged in, our team processes it. During this step, we carefully inspect the package and update the shipping status to "Processed." At this stage, you will see detailed information about your package on your dashboard, including:

  • A description of the item received.
  • Pictures of the item for you to confirm it is correct.
  • The weight of the item, which determines the shipping cost.

If your package contains high-value luxury goods or consumer electronics (such as phones, laptops, designer handbags, gaming consoles, cameras, etc.), we require proof of purchase before shipping it. This policy helps us ensure compliance with customs regulations and prevent fraudulent transactions.

Step 3: Proof of Purchase Verification

You will see a "Take Action" prompt for high-value or sensitive items on your dashboard. You won’t be able to proceed until you upload a valid proof of purchase. We understand that different stores have various receipt formats, so we accept PDF, PNG, JPG, and JPEG files. The proof of purchase should include:

  • Billing address
  • Method of payment
  • Description of items purchased
  • Order numbers
  • Shipping address

After you upload the proof of purchase, our verification team will review it within 12-24 working hours. If the proof is approved, you will receive an email confirmation and can proceed to payment. If it is rejected, we will notify you of the reason and provide instructions on re-submitting or returning the item to the sender.

Step 4: Payment and Packing

Once your proof of purchase is verified, it is time to pay for your shipping. Remember, shipments are packed once a week on Thursdays. Pay by 1 pm GMT+1 on Thursday to ensure your package ships that week. After this deadline, our operations team will begin packing all paid shipments, and your package status will change to "Packed."

P.S.: If you miss the deadline, your package will ship next week.

Step 5: Drop Off and Shipping

Once your package is packed, it is added to the shipping manifest and prepared for drop-off at the airport. The status on your dashboard will update to "Dropped Off," showing that your package is undergoing final preparations for shipping. It usually takes 2-5 working days for our partner airlines to schedule and confirm the shipment.

When the airline confirms and ships the package, the status changes to "Shipped." This is when the official 7-10 working day shipping timeline begins. Your package is now on its way to Nigeria!

Step 6: Arrival and Clearance

Upon arrival in Nigeria, your package status will change to "Clearance," showing it is undergoing customs clearance. Don’t worry; when you ship with Heroshe, you won’t have to paywhich extra customs fees. We've got that covered for you!

Step 7: Sorting and Final Delivery

Once your package clears customs, it will be transported to our Lagos warehouse, which will be sorted for delivery or pickup. At this point, your status will change to "Sorted."

If you opted for pickup, the status will change to "Pickup," letting you know your package is ready for collection. If you choose delivery, the status will update to "Dispatched" when it gets assigned to our delivery partners. Finally, when your package reaches your doorstep, the status will change to "Delivered," confirming that we have fulfilled our promise and your item is now with you!

And That's It!

Now you know exactly what happens when your package arrives at our U.S., U.K., and China warehouses until it reaches your doorstep.  At Heroshe, we aim to make shipping as transparent, simple, and affordable as possible, ensuring you receive quality items from the USA, UK, and China with love and swift delivery.
