Introducing Heroshe Post - Our New Customer Dashboard
Do you remember how hard it was to get quality items from the United States? It was a complex, expensive, and time-consuming experience that few people wanted. But thanks to technology and innovation, all this has changed. Now, everyone has access to cross-border commerce from the comfort of their homes.
Heroshe focuses on solving the problem of access to global commerce for Africans seeking quality products from the USA. Our mission is to bridge the commerce gap, simplify imports and empower Africans to access international markets. Since 2019, we have been doing this using tech-driven and intuitive products. We have tried to make our platform as efficient as possible, and I hope it has been an enjoyable experience for you and will continue to be.
We have been busy working on something for you in the last few months. Something to make your user experience on our platform easier, better, faster, and sleeker! I am excited to introduce you to our newly improved customer dashboard, Heroshe Post. In this article, I’d like to walk you through the new design and talk about how it adds value to you. Join me on a tour of Heroshe Post and the design highlights.
What is Heroshe Post?
Heroshe Post is our all-in-one logistics software that lets you make payments, send packages, schedule deliveries, and track your shipments. It is the primary interface for our customers to manage their shipments, make payments, and track deliveries.
Why Did We Build Heroshe Post?
Our mission is to improve lives by opening access to global commerce. But we can't do this if users can't find their way around a clunky dashboard, can we? We firmly believe in providing a soft, intuitive, and efficient dashboard for our users. This is why we need to provide a dashboard that allows you to navigate it without stress.
Over the years, though, the dashboard has lost some of that clarity. We have added new features and tweaked the base design to make it all fit. In June, we realized we had gotten as much out of the old design as possible and that’s why we took a step back and looked at how we could fit it together.
When the project started out, there were a few needs and demands:
- The design should not be too different from the old one, so our users can make the switch without much guidance. As you may know, our users range from individual personal shoppers to content creators to mini importers and large-scale businesses.
- The new dashboard has to fit with the Heroshe identity and be consistent with our other touch points like the marketing website and blog.
- It should also be able to carry all our current features and accommodate the exciting upgrades we have in store for you. This scalability is extra important now because we will release new features and updates faster than before.
As you can guess, doing all this was a challenge. But after testing the new dashboard for the last couple of days and feedback on social media, the final product shows that our engineering and design teams rose to the challenge. Bravo!
What's New in Heroshe Post?
With more people shipping from the USA to Nigeria using Heroshe, we wanted the process to be seamless. As one of the key touchpoints, we designed it to fit in with the rest of the Heroshe ecosystem. It has an easy-to-use interface, many whitespaces, and crisp icons. This has ensured the dashboard has a clean look and feel.
But we didn't go through all this trouble just to make a finer dashboard. Let's go through what else is new.
Mobile Optimization
One of the most significant changes we made with Heroshe Post was to improve the mobile optimization of the dashboard. We made the experience simpler and easier to navigate on any mobile device, focusing on a smooth user experience.
Our new mobile experience includes standard sizing of the dashboard across any type of device. It automatically detects your device and delivers the right size of content to you.
Comprehensive Sidebar Menu
Heroshe Post features a non-intrusive sidebar menu that allows you to access your order details easily and that gives you quick access to the information and actions you need frequently. You can top up your wallet, view shipments, and orders directly from the sidebar and you also have access to helpful resources and the Heroshe customer delight team.
Easily Access Our USA Address
Some people had trouble understanding how to use our US warehouse address on the old dashboard. We have improved this by providing the address in the exact format you'd be entering on your favorite online stores. All you have to do is copy it from your dashboard and use it at checkout!
New Dashboard Overview
The "Dashboard Overview" section of Heroshe Post features enhanced functionality and a simple interface. You can view your most important details, including your wallet balance and incoming shipment.
Voucher application:
Before now, when you applied a voucher to your order, it was impossible to cancel it from your end. You'd have to reach out to us to cancel the order. It was a headache for the customer delight team! But now, that's a thing of the past! We have made it easy for you to use vouchers as part of your payment options. In fact, you can now apply multiple vouchers!
Shipping Calculator
When designing Heroshe Post, we used lots of research and feedback to understand how people use our platform. From the research, we learned that our users want to be able to get an estimate for their shipment from their dashboard.
As a result, we added an easy-to-use shipping calculator to Heroshe Post. The calculator estimates how much you will pay to ship your items, including last-mile delivery. All you have to do is enter the weight of your shipment and if you'd like to pick it up or have it delivered to your doorstep. Voila!
Improved Checkout
Personally, my favorite feature on Heroshe Post is the improved checkout process. The first thing you will notice on your dashboard is that you can now access your cart from any page through the cart drawer. This reduces your checkout time and will come in handy when you want to beat those Thursday deadlines! 😉
What else is new you may wonder? You can now create multiple orders for different shipments and send them to separate delivery addresses. So if you want two different orders to go to two different addresses, it's now possible! And that's not all. Unlike before you can now easily cancel your orders even after making payments. I know you have a lot of questions and we answer all of them in our Frequently Asked Questions about Heroshe Post.
A few other things are different:
- One of our user research results was that some people were unfamiliar with some shipping lingo. Now, you can click on the current status label of your shipment to know its meaning.
- Another cool feature on Heroshe Post is that, unlike before, you can now have multiple unpaid orders.
- You can also easily access helpful resources like the Heroshe blog and FAQs.
- If you cancel a paid order on Heroshe Post, you will get refunded with vouchers of the same value.
- On Heroshe Post, you have more control as you can now use a magnifying glass to inspect your shipment images.
Wrapping it up
That is how we redesigned Heroshe Post to provide a better user experience for accessing global commerce. We hope our new customer dashboard will help bridge the commerce gap as more people ship from the USA to Nigeria. We will continue fine-tuning it and our other features for clarity and ease of use. I hope you see all the love and work we put into creating and improving your shipping experience.
In case you are wondering: How do I access Heroshe Post? You don't have to do anything because you already have access to the new dashboard.
